My work mixes installation, craft and performance . Usually it involves knitting - I grew up playing in my mum's wool shop and feel an affinity with the colour, texture and pleasure of yarn. I'm a romantic - I enjoy the quiet competitiveness and generous camaraderie people bring to shared labour. I equally enjoy making my own pieces or working collectively - encouraging the small, immediate and intimate connections that can be made in a moment of shared crafting; the exchange of knowledge, value and ideas that happens on a group project; the freedom and transformation that comes from wearing a bonkers hand-made garment or experiencing a 'domestic' craft applied to a public context - the embodied energy, technical mastery and engineering know-how put to the service of care and creative expression.

My favourite projects involve lots of participants with a brief to create small-scale, individually informed multiples that come together in a transformational moment for a large-scale work. I'm also happy designing and making solo and bringing my skills  in a targeted way to projects led by others.
